Underline 29 September to 12 October 2013

For 2014, The Fringe Files showcased brand new psychological thriller UnderLINE, written by British playwright Michael Starr and directed by Stuart Lyddon.

THE PLOT

This is the tale of three commuters roving an underground train carriage. This is the fable of three strangers, adhering to a series of events, leading to an encounter. This is one reality for three passengers, each sharing an aligned journey, where not all is as it seems.

THE TIMETABLE

Rehearsals took place at The Bear Hotel, Wincanton and The Nog Inn, Wincanton (June to September, 2013). Performance venues included The Bear Hotel, Wincanton (September 29th, 2014), Stanchester Academy (October 10th, 2013) & the Woking Drama Festival (October 12th, 2013)

PRODUCTION NOTES

For this production, The Fringe Files welcomed Andrew Meadows and Rozy Watson for the first time as a performer and hair / make-up artist respectively. Ian Tapner, Gordon Watson, Quintin Mitchell and Stuart Lyddon all returned. Founder and patron Michael Starr and graphic illustrator Jeff Haas completed the line-up.

AWARDS / NOMINATIONS

This production received five award nominations. These were for “Best lighting" for Gordon Watson (nominated), “Best sound” for Gordon Watson (nominated), “Best direction" for Stuart Lyddon (nominated), "Technical excellence” (nominated) & “Best male actor” for Quintin Mitchell's performance as Norman (nominated).
